RPT is the piano owners best choice in Piano Technicians. A Registered Piano Technician has passed three rigorous tests administered by the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG). Test one is a written exam that tests an applicants knowledge in a wide range of common tuning and repair issues. Test two is a comprehensive hands on test where an applicant assembles and adjusts both grand and upright actions, and performs a range of common repairs such as replacing strings and other parts. Test three is the tuning test. An applicant must tune a piano within close tolerances to demonstrate he/she has the skills to make a piano sound it's best. These tests take a total of 14 hours to administer, and most technicians study for years before they gain the skills needed to pass them. RPT's hold themselves to a Code of Ethics. You can trust an RPT with your valuable instrument - An RPT is committed to excellence and nothing less.
